اوکاڑہ : اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی میں صحافی و دانشور سہیل وڑاٸچ کی آمد،شعبہ ابلاغیات کے طلبہ کو خصوصی لیکچر دیا

Okara: Journalist and intellectual Sohail Warraich arrives at Okara University, gives special lecture to students of Department of Communication

اوکاڑہ(جاوید راہی)معروف صحافی و دانشور سہیل وڑائچ کی اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی آمد، شعبہ ابلاغیات کے طلباء کو خصوصی لیکچر دیا، وائس چانسلر سے باہمی تبادلہ خیال، تفصیل کے مطابق پاکستان کے معروف صحافی و دانشور سہیل وڑائچ نے اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کا دورہ کیا جس میں انہوں نے شعبہ ابلاغیات کے طلباء کو ایک خصوصی لیکچر دیا اور وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر سے باہمی تبادلہ خیال کیا۔

 "لیکچر آف دی ائیر" کے عنوان سےمنعقد ہونے والے اس سیشن کی صدارت وائس چانسلر نے کی جبکہ اس کا اہتمام شعبہ ابلاغیات کی جانب سے کیا گیا۔ 

اپنے افتتاحی خطاب میں وائس چانسلر نے اوکاڑہ آمد پہ سہیل وڑائچ کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور بتایا کہ اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ طلباء کی پیشہ وارانہ تربیت اور ان کے اندر عصر حاضر کے تقاضوں سے نمٹنے کی صلاحیت پیدا کرنے کےلیے یونیورسٹی اور انڈسٹری کے مابین تعلق کو مضبوط کرنے کےلیے کوشاں ہے۔

شعبہ ابلاغیات کے سربراہ ڈاکٹر زاہد بلال نے سہیل وڑائچ کے بطور صحافی، مصنف اور دانشور کارناموں پہ روشنی ڈالی اور طلباء کو اس بات کی ترغیب دی کہ وہ اپنےان کارناموں سے سیکھ کر اپنے کیرئیر کو جلا بخشیں۔

سہیل وڑائچ نے سیشن کے شرکاء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ مجھے اوکاڑہ جیسے مضافاتی علاقے میں ایک جدید یونیورسٹی کو دیکھ کر خوشی محسوس ہو رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے یونیورسٹی کی تعمیر و ترقی کےلیے وائس چانسلر کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ 

سہیل وڑائچ نے طلباء کے سوالات کے جواب بھی دیے۔سیٹیزن جرنلزم کے تناظر میں میڈیا کے مستقبل کے بارے میں بات کرتے ہوئے ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اس حقیقت سے انکار نہیں کہ مستقبل آن لائن جرنلزم سے منسلک ہے لیکن اس کے باوجود کتب، رسائل، جرائد اور اخبارات کی اہمیت کم نہیں ہو سکتی۔ 

سیشن کے اختتام پہ وائس چانسلر نے مہمان خصوصی کو شیلڈ بھی پیش کی اور اس کے ساتھ کامیاب پروگرام کے انعقاد پہ شعبہ ابلاغیات کو مبارکباد پیش کی۔

Eminent Journalist Suhail Warraich Visits UO Scoop of Citizen Journalism discussed

The eminent Pakistani journalist and scholar, Suhail Warraich, visited the University of Okara and had an interactive session with the students of the Department of Communication Studies. The session was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar. 

In his welcome note at the event, the VC showed gratitude to Warraich for his arrival at the UO and told that the university administration was keen to develop strong and fruitful linkages between academia and industry in order to enrich the students with necessary skills to cope up with the challenges of the modern world. 

Dr Zahid Bilal, In-Charge Department of Communication Studies, highlighted the journalistic and scholarly contributions of Warraich and urged the students to learn maximum from his works to embellish their careers. 

Warraich, while addressing to the event, said that he felt great pleasure to see a rapidly growing university with a progressive culture in a peripheral area. He applauded the efforts of the VC in ensuring academic and infrastructural development of the university. 

He also answered various questions from the students. Discussing the future of media with respect to the fast emergence of digital journalist, Warraich argued that there was no denying the fact that the future belonged to online media and citizen journalism but the impact and shelf value of printed material including books, magazines, journals and newspapers could never be undermined. 

At the end of the session, Dr Zakar presented a shield of honor to Suhail Warraich and appreciated the faculty of communication studies for organizing the event.
