What is included in a typical film contract?

A typical film contract usually includes the following  

1. An introduction or recitals section that sets out the purpose of the contract. 

2. Definitions and interpretations, which provide definitions of the key terms used in the contract, as well as any specific interpretations of those terms.

3. Rights granted. This section outlines the scope of rights granted to the involved parties, including producer rights, expectations, and obligations under the contract.

4. Production schedule. This section outlines the proposed dates for the production and delivery of the film. 

5. Compensation and billing. This section outlines the various payments and allocations of funds to be paid out in exchange for services or goods provided.

6. Credit and publicity. This section outlines how credit and publicity for the film will be handled.

7. Termination and breach of contract. This section outlines what can happen if the parties do not meet their obligations according to the contract.

8. Indemnification clauses. These are intended to protect the producer from liability if any of the contents of the film cause harm or incur expenses due to copyright infringement or intellectual property disputes. 

9. Limitations of liability. These are intended to limit the extent of any potential damages that may be incurred as a result of breach of contract. 

10. Dispute resolution. This section outlines the process that must be followed in order to resolve any contractual disputes. 

11. Miscellaneous provisions. This section outlines any additional provisions that should be included in the contract.
