اوکاڑہ(جاویدراہی)اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی میں خواتین کے عالمی دن کے حوالے سے سیمینارکا انعقاد،خواتین کو معاشرتی دھارے میں شامل کیے بغیر دیرپا معاشی ترقی کے اہداف حاصل کرنا ناممکن ہے اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر نے خواتین کے عالمی دن کے حوالے سے منعقد ہونے والے ایک سیمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیاان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ خواتین معاشرے کی نصف آبادی سے زیادہ ہیں اور یہ وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہےکہ ان کوتعلیم سے آراستہ کیا جائے اور معاشرتی دھارے کا حصہ بنایا جائے تاکہ وہ نہ صرف اپنی بلکہ اپنے خاندان اور معاشرے کی اصلاح اور بہتری کے لیےکام کر سکیں وائس چانسلر نے بتایا کہ ہم محض خواتین کو تعلیم دے کر بہت سے معاشی اور معاشرتی مسائل حل کر سکتے ہیں جیسا کہ کم عمری کی شادیاں،آبادی میں بے ہنگم اضافہ، غربت، ناقص غذا اور زچہ بچہ کی شرح اموات یونیورسٹی کے ترجمان کے مطابق اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی پورے خطے میں صنفی تفریق ختم کرنے کے لیے کوشاں ہے کیونکہ اس وقت یونیورسٹی میں طالبات کی تعداد ستر فیصد سے زائد ہےاور ان میں سے اکثریت کا تعلق دیہی اور غربت زدہ علاقو ں سے ہے۔ یہ خواتین اعلی تعلیم حاصل کرنے کے بعد خطے میں معاشرتی تبدیلی کی بنیاد رکھیں گی

Women Participation is Key to Economic Development: Dr. Zakar

The sustainable development goals cannot be achieved without the women’s participation and involvement into the social mainstream, said the Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Zakar while addressing to a seminar, organized in connection with the International Women’s Day. 

Dr. Zakar further told that women constituted more than half of Pakistan’s population and it was need of the hour to educate them and bring them to the fold so that they could play an active part in the wellbeing of their families, communities and the society at large. 

“We can address a range of social and economic problems such as early marriages, population explosion, poverty, malnutrition, maternal mortality and child mortality by simply educating our women”, said the VC.
