اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کےشعبہ کیمسٹری کیجانب سے انٹرنیشنل سمپوزیم کاانعقاد

اوکاڑہ (جاوید راہی) یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ کیمسٹری کی جانب سے انٹرنیشنل سمپوزیم کا انعقاد،اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ کیمسٹری نے تحقیق کے جدید رجحانات کے موضوع پہ ایک بین الاقوامی سمپوزیم کا انعقاد کیا جس میں دنیا بھر سے 250 سے زائد محققین اور طلباء نے آن لائن شرکت کی۔ سمپوزیم  کی صدارت شعبہ کیمسٹری کے سربراہ ڈاکٹر عاطف علی الطاف نے کی جب کہ برونل یونیورسٹی لندن سے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سویلٹانا اگناٹوا اور لاہور یونیورسٹی آف مینجمینٹ سائنسز سے ڈاکٹر محمد زہیر مہمان اسپیکرز کے طور پہ شامل تھے سمپوزیم میں شعبہ کیمسٹری کے دیگر اساتذہ نے بھی شرکت کی جن میں ڈاکٹر غلام مصطفی، ڈاکٹر ریاض حسین، ڈاکٹر امجد حسین، ڈاکٹر عثمان علوی، جنید یعقوب اور رافیہ رحمان شامل تھے۔

سمپوزیم کے شرکاء نے مختلف ممالک میں ہونے والی جدید تحقیق کا جائزہ لیا اور اس بات پہ زور دیا کہ کیمسٹری کے میدان میں ابھی بہت سارے ایسے عناصر اور کیمیکلز میں جن کی روزمرہ زندگی میں افادیت اور اہمیت پہ تحقیق کی ضرورت ہے سمپوزیم کے مقاصد بیان کرتے ہوئے ڈاکٹر عاطف کا کہنا تھا کہ ہم اپنے طلباءمیں تحقیقی صلاحیتیں پیدا کرنے کے لیے کوشاں ہیں تاکہ یہ طلباء عملی زندگی میں جا کر کامیاب ہو سکیں اورملک و معاشرے کی ترقی کے لیے اپنا مثبت کردار ادا کر سکیں۔

اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر نے سمپوزیم کے کامیاب انعقاد پر شعبہ کیمسٹری کے اساتذہ  کو مبارک باد پیش کی۔

UO’s Chemistry Department Holds International Symposium 

The University of Okara’s Department of Chemistry organized a one-day International Symposium on “The Recent Trends of Research”. More than 250 participants from all over the world attended the event virtually. Prof Dr Sveltana Ignatova from the Brunel University, London and Dr Muhammad Zaheer from the Lahore University of Management Sciences were the keynote speakers. 

The faculty of the Department of Chemistry including Dr Ataf Ali Altaf, Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Dr Riaz Hussain, Dr Amjad Hussain, Dr Usman Alvi, Junaid Yaqoob and Rafia Rehman also shared their thoughts on the key developments and needs of research in the field of Chemistry. 

The participants discussed that the scientists had made rapid progress in identifying molecules made by microorganisms from across the globe. These natural products could contain miraculous properties, but there was a need to conduct research on the thousands of known chemical structures. 

Elaborating the objectives of the symposiam, Dr Altaf, Chairperson Department of Chemistry, told, “We are focusing on enriching our students with the latest knowledge and skills of conducting practical research so that they can contribute positively in the industry after passing out”. 

The Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar appreciated the teachers and students of Chemistry on the successful organization of the event.
