خواتین کی تعلیم کے بغیر معاشرتی ترقی ناممکن ہے، پروفیسرڈاکٹر زکریا ذاکر

Social development is impossible without education of women, says Prof. Dr. Zakaria Zakir

اوکاڑہ(جاویدراہی)خواتین کی تعلیم کے بغیر معاشرتی ترقی ناممکن ہے احساس اسکالرشپ میں لڑکیوں کے لیے اسپیشل کوٹہ ہونا چاہیے دنیا بھر میں خاص طور پر ترقی پذیر ممالک میں جب گھریلو معیشت کو نقصان پہنچتا ہے تو اس کے نتیجے میں لڑکیوں کی تعلیم سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہوتی ہے ان خیالات کا اظہار اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر نے یونیورسٹی کے طلباء اور اساتذہ سے بات چیت کرتے ہوئے کیا پروفیسر زکریا کا کہنا تھا کہ کم آمدنی والے گھرانے اپنی بیٹیوں کو اعلیٰ تعلیم مہیا نہیں کرپا رہے بڑھتی ہوئی مہنگائی اور کرونا کے باعث جنم لینے والی بےروزگاری کے نتیجے میں اس سال یونیورسٹیوں میں لڑکیوں کے داخلوں میں خاطر خواہ کمی نظر آ رہی ہےاگر ایک گھرانے کی ماہانہ آمدنی بیس ہزار سےکم ہو تو اپنی بیٹیوں کو یونیورسٹی بھیجناتو دور کی بات زندگی کی بنیادی ضروریات پورا کرنا مشکل ہوتا ہےان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ حکومت کو چاہیے کہ وہ ہر قیمت پر خواتین کی تعلیم کو سبسڈی فراہم کرےاگر ہم لاکھوں لڑکیوں کو تعلیم کے بغیر رہنے دیں تو یہ ایک بہت بڑی معاشی اور معاشرتی تباہی ہوگی کیونکہ کوئی بھی معاشرہ خواتین کی شمولیت کے بغیر ترقی نہیں کر سکتا پروفیسر زکریا نے حکومت کی جانب سے یونیورسٹی طلباء کے لئے احساس اسکالرشپ کی فراہمی کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس پروگرام میں کم آمدنی والے گھرانوں کی لڑکیوں کے لئے ایک مخصوص کوٹہ ہونا چاہیےانہوں نے کہا کہ لڑکیوں کی تعلیم پہ خرچ کیا جانے والا ایک ڈالر ملکی معیشت میں لاکھوں ڈالرز کے اضافے کا سبب بنتا ہے۔ہم خواتین کی تعلیم کے بغیر ملک سے بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی،خواتین پہ تشدد اور زچہ بچہ کی اموات جیسے مسائل ختم نہیں کر سکتے۔

Inflation and unemployment will undermine parents' capacity to educate daughters: Dr Zakar

All over the world, especially in the developing countries, when household economy gets a setback, girls education is the first casualty, argued the Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar while addressing to the students and faculty. 

Dr Zakar observed that the families with limited income were finding it difficult to send their daughters to universities. "Due to inflation and COVID-driven unemployment, there are slightly lesser number of girls admission in universities. Understandably, if the entire family' monthly income is less than twenty thousand rupees, how could the basic necessities be met, not to speak of university education", said the VC. He further maintained that the Goverment must support and subside girls education at all cost. "If we allow millions of girls without education, it is the worst social and economic catastrophe, because the society can never achieve any development indicator without women participation." 

Within this context, Prof Zakar highlighted the significance of Ehsaas Scholarship for university students. He suggested that a special Ehsaas program should be introduced to support the educational expenses of girls from limited income families.

“It is an established fact that one dollar invested on girls education will yield millions of dollar benefit to the nation.
