The court directed the concerned union council to issue a certificate of effective divorce by issuing the degree of annulment of marriage instead of non-maintenance on the oath taken by both the parties. According to details, Kiran Jabbar, a resident of Baghdad Colony, filed a case against Zeeshan Tariq, a resident of Haji Mohammad, her husband's Colony, in the court of Family Court Judge Nadeem Asghar Nadeem for non-payment of alimony as per the terms of the marriage certificate. Husband Zeeshan Tariq was summoned to the court and asked to explain his non-payment of alimony.

The husband Zeeshan Tariq told the court that he was living with his father-in-law as per the terms of the marriage. She has been in a relationship with a non-male and has also committed haraam adultery. After being accused by her husband, his wife Karan Jabbar called the allegation false and the husband and wife took an oath to prove themselves true.

The two maintained their stand on which the apex court judge Nadeem Asghar Nadeem issued a degree of divorce under Shariah (Lian) under which both of them will not be able to remarry even after halala despite taking khula. However, the apex court took an oath on behalf of both the parties for further investigation The adjournment was adjourned till June 25.
