No, Jin Yong never stopped writing novels.

Did Jin Yong ever stop writing novels

Born in 1924, Jin Yong, or Louis Cha Leung-yung, was a famous Chinese novelist, best known for his wuxia series that were published in the 1950s. He was often referred to as the 'king' of wuxia fiction and has had a major influence on modern Chinese martial arts culture.

Jin Yong wrote 14 novels which were serialized in newspapers from 1955 to 1972. His works were translated into many languages and proved extremely popular, selling millions of copies all over the world. After 1972, Jin Yong retired from writing novels due to exhaustion and health reasons.

Although Jin Yong retired from writing novels, he did not entirely stop creating. He started to write short stories and essays, some of which were later turned into books. During this period, he also continued to write script for TV drama series and feature films based on his novels.
In addition to this, Jin Yong also established a publishing company called Ming Pao Company Limited in 1959 and served as its life-time chairman. The company was focused on Chinese culture and literature, and aimed to promote traditional Chinese culture.
