اوکاڑہ(جاویدراہی)غلط معلومات کی وبا کرونا وائرس سے زیادہ خطرناک ہے: پروفیسرزکریا ذاکر نے کہاکہ ہمیں صرف مستند ذرائع سے آنے والے ڈیٹا پر یقین کرنا چاہیےاس وقت پوری دنیا کرونا وائرس کی وبا کے نتیجے میں پیدا ہونےوالی جانی و معاشرتی اور معاشی بحران سے نپٹ رہی ہے اور ایسی صورت حال میں غلط معلومات کی بھرمار اصل بیماری سے زیادہ خطرناک ثابت ہو سکتی ہےان خیالات کا اظہار معروف ماہر عمرانیات اور اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر نے اپنے ایک سوشل میڈیا پیغام میں کیا۔ان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ اس بحرانی کیفیت میں ہر فرد اور بالخصوص سوشل میڈیا استعمال کرنے والوں کو ذمہ دارانہ رویہ اختیار کرنا چاہیے اور کرونا وائرس کے متعلق غلط معلومات اور جھوٹے دعووں کے پھیلاو سے گریز کرنا چاہیے۔پروفیسر زکریا نے بتایا کہ ہمیں وبا کے متعلق باخبر رہنے کے لیے مستند ذرائع جیسا کہ عالمی ادارہ صحت اور قومی سطع پہ موجود صحت ایڈوائزریز کی طرف سے آنے والی معلومات اور ڈیٹا پہ انحصار کرنا چاہیے۔ سوشل میڈیا سے آنے والی معلومات مزید ذہنی پریشانی کا باعث بن سکتی ہیں۔انہوں نے بتایا کہ دنیا کی بڑی سوشل میڈیا کمپنیاں جیسا کہ گوگل، اپیل اور فیس بک نے غلط معلومات کی وبا سے نبزآزما ہونے کے لیے مشترکہ کاوش کے تحت اپنے سافٹ ویئرز کو اپ ڈیٹ کرنا شروع کر دیا ہے تاکہ عوام تک پہنچنے والی معلومات اور خبروں میں سچائی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے پروفیسر زکریا نےتجویز کیا کہ اس صورت حال میں ہم سب کو ذمہ دارانہ اور منطقی رویے اپنانے کی ضرورت ہے۔ یہ وقت خود کو سدھارنے کا ہے کیونکہ کرونا وائرس کے خلاف جنگ مشترکہ عزم اور ذمہ داری کے بغیر نہیں جیتی جا سکتی۔

‘Infodemic’ is More Dangerous Than Real Pandemic: Dr. Zakar

While the entire world is grappling with the health, social and financial hazards of the COVID-19, the spread of misinformation about the pandemic is also on the rise and it is more dangerous than the actual disease, said by the renowned Social Scientist and Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Zakar in his social media message. 

He argued that, in this state of chaos, the individuals especially the social media users should have behaved responsibly and avoid the spread of misleading information and false claims about the Coronavirus. 

“In order to stay up-to-date about the pandemic and save ourselves from panic, we should only rely on the data and information coming from reliable sources such as World Health Organization (WHO) and our national health advisories. The information coming from social media can lead to depression and dread”, told Dr. Zakar.

He revealed that the tech giants like Google, Apple and Facebook had also joined hands and gird up their lines to tackle this challenge by improvising their algorithms in a bid to put some gatekeeping on wrong information about the pandemic. 

“This is the time we should learn to adopt reasonable and rationale attitude. This is the time for self-actualization. The fight against the Coronavirus can only be won with collective resolve and responsibility”, added the academician.
