اوکاڑہ: اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی میں علم ریاضیات کی اہمیت پہ سیمینار کا انعقاد

Okara: A seminar on the importance of mathematics was organized at Okara University

اوکاڑہ(جاوید راہی)اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ ریاضیات نے روزہ مرہ زندگی میں علم ریاضیات کی اہمیت اور اس میدان میں ابھرتے ہوئے رجحانات کے موضوع پہ ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا جس میں اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا ذاکر، گورنمنٹ کالج یونیورسٹی لاہور کے شعبہ ریاضیات کے سربراہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مجاہد عباس اور اوکاڑہ یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ ریاضیات کے سربراہ ڈاکٹر شعیب سلیم سمیت دیگر مقررین نے علم ریاضیات کی اہمیت کے مختلف پہلووں پہ روشنی ڈالی۔

سیمینار کے شرکاء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے پروفیسر زکریا نے کہا کہ علم ریاضیات ان کے دل کے بہت قریب ہے ان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ یہ علم ہمیں دنیا کو بہتر انداز میں سمجھنے میں مدد دیتا ہے اور ہمارے ذہن اور سوچ کو منظم کرتا ہے۔ 

پروفیسر مجاہد نے بتایا کہ علم ریاضیات منطقی تنقیدی اور تخلیقی سوچ کے علاوہ مسائل کے حل کی صلاحیت اور حتی کہ اظہار خیال کی مہارت بھی پیدا کرتا ہے ڈاکٹر شعیب نے روز مرہ زندگی میں علم ریاضیات کی اہمیت اجاگر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس علم سے منطقی سوچ اور رویے جنم لیتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ علم ریاضیات ہمارے اندر تجزیاتی مہارت پیدا کرتا ہے جس سے ہم اپنی زندگی کے بہت سارے مسائل اور مشکلات احسن طریقے سے حل کر سکتے ہیں۔سیمینار میں شعبہ ریاضیات کے طلباء نے پوسٹرز بھی پیش کیے جن میں علم ریاضیات کی اہمیت واضع کی گئی اور عظیم ماہرین ریاضیات اور طبعیات جیسا کہ البرٹ آئن سٹائن اور سٹیفن ہاکنگ کو خراج عقیدت پیش کیا گیا۔

Seminar on Importance of Math held at UO

The University of Okara’s Department of Mathematics organized a seminar on the ‘Recent Trends in Mathematics”. The speakers including the UO Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, the Chairperson Department of Mathematics, Government College University Lahore, Prof Dr Mujahid Abbas, and the Chairperson of the UO’s Department of Mathematics Dr Shoaib Saleem discussed the significance of mathematics in sciences and in daily life. 

Addressing to the participants, Dr Zakar said that mathematics was very close to his heart. He further told, “Mathematics helps us understand the world and provides an effective way to build mental discipline.” 

Dr Mujahid argued that Math encouraged logical reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, spatial thinking, problem-solving ability, and even effective communication skills.

Dr Shoaib highlighted the role of math in daily life and maintained that math was a way to think and behave logically. “Mathematics helps in analytical thinking. While solving math problems, data are collected, disassembled and then interconnected to solve them”. 

The students of the Department of Mathematics also presented posters to highlight the importance and impact of math and show tribute to the great mathematicians and Physicists like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.
